As much as medical science has advanced over the years, penis enlargement surgery remains a risky procedure that is fraught with many dangers and potential post operation complications. This is true of all penis augmentation procedures even when the most qualified of surgeons is performing the operation. It is therefore almost mind-boggling to learn that there are men who not only decide to undergo penile surgery but who actually attempt to operate on themselves! As crazy as this sounds, there are reports of men performing what can only be called "self-surgery" on their own penises.

While penile implants have been shown to help in a large percentage of these cases, one common complaint is the accompanying decrease in overall penis size. Some researchers now suggest a possible remedy to the resulting dissatisfaction with penis size experienced after penile prosthesis implantation may involve the utilization of additional surgical augmentation techniques.

For the vast majority of men looking to increase the size of their penis, penile enlargement surgery remains a mostly non-viable option. In addition to being cost-prohibitive (penile surgery can run into the thousands of dollars), it also poses the risks and dangers inherent to all surgical procedures including, but not limited to, excessive blood loss and possible infection. As if this wasn't enough to dissuade most potential candidates, new evidence now suggests additional unforeseen complications that can arise after the completion of an otherwise "successful" operation has been conducted.
