Female ejaculation is an expulsion of fluid that some women experience at orgasm. While not a common occurrence, scientific investigation has revealed that it is most certainly a real physiological phenomenon. Even so, controversy persists among scientists regarding the nature of this event and no theory fully explains why some females ejaculate while others do not. To confuse matters even further, some women who experience female ejaculation report that it occurs intermittently. In this article we'll uncover some of the research conducted on female ejaculating in an attempt to shed some light on this rare and mysterious phenomenon.

Female Ejaculating or "Squirting"

Although female ejaculation is a rare occurrence, I'm sure that some reading this article (both men and women) can attest to its existence. Having had first-hand experience myself with female partners who "squirted" during orgasm, I can tell you it's something that you'll not quickly forget. When suddenly confronted with a geyser of vaginal fluid, feeling surprised is nothing short of an understatement!

Since episodes of female ejaculation are rather uncommon, science has for years struggled with accepting the validity of this event. In fact, until fairly recently its very existence was considered controversial. New research however appears to uncover evidence that a historical record of female ejaculating dates back at least 2,000 years.

History of Female Ejaculation

In a recent study† published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine, researchers note that literary references to female ejaculations go back several thousand years.

Asian References

"In ancient Asia female ejaculation was very well known and mentioned in several Chinese Taoist texts starting in the 4th century. The ancient Chinese concept of female ejaculation as independent of reproduction was supported by ancient Indian writings. First mentioned in a 7th century poem, female ejaculation and the Grafenberg spot (G-spot) are described in detail in most works of the Kamasutra."

Western References

"In ancient Western writings the emission of female fluid is mentioned even earlier, depicted about 300 B.C. by Aristotle and in the 2nd century by Galen. Reinjier De Graaf in the 16th century provided the first scientific description of female ejaculation and was the first to refer to the periurethral glands as the female prostate."

The researchers conclude that "Credible evidence exists among different cultures that the female prostate and female ejaculation have been discovered, described and then forgotten over the last 2,000 years."

What Causes Female Ejaculation?

It had been suggested that women who experience an expulsion of fluid at orgasm were suffering from a form of coital incontinence. This however does not seem to fit the results of at least one study†† that showed women experiencing female ejaculation having normal voiding patterns and no bothersome incontinence symptoms.

In another study††† researchers speculated that the Skene's gland (recently renamed the "female prostate") was responsible for female ejaculation. This gland, much like the male prostate, expels fluid during orgasm. Since the structure of this gland varies greatly from one woman to the next, and in some cases is entirely absent, it is possible that this may explain why the phenomena is observable in some women but not others.

This finding still does not answer the question of why some women experience female ejaculation only intermittently. It may be that a specific type of stimulation is required to trigger the mechanism.

Interviews on Female Ejaculation

To better understand the causes of female ejaculation, and to determine if certain penile characteristics such as length and thickness play a role, I questioned five separate women about their personal experiences. Each woman reported having experienced female ejaculations a minimum of two times over the course of their sexually active lives.

You can find the complete interview with the specific questions and answers located here: Female Ejaculation Interviews.

While the results indicated a wide variance of sexual preference among these subjects, one particular trend was immediately evidenced. In all five cases, penile girth (thickness) seemed to play a dominant role in the frequency of female ejaculation.

The exact correlation between the thickness of the penis and female ejaculation frequency is not completely clear. It is possible however that the increased amount of surface area stimulation provided by a penis of large girth is somehow conducive to triggering the onset of female ejaculation.

This conclusion is of course only speculation since there have been no scientific studies (to my knowledge) that either confirm or refute this hypothesis. It is a well known fact that the majority of women consider penis size an important factor in overall sexual satisfaction. That being the case, it would really come as no surprise if the actual proportions of the penis (length, thickness) were directly tied to the likelihood of producing female ejaculation.

The large percentage of scientific research pertaining to human sexuality has thus far concentrated on heterosexual relations (male-female couple behavior). In reality, sexual orientation embodies a diverse and much convoluted condition that spans everything from gay and lesbian preferences to a combination of both (bisexual). One recently published study examines the impact that sexual preference has on sexuality and sexual function and reveals the existence of some very interesting trends that exist among the various sexual orientations.

In order to better understand the role that sexual orientation plays on sexuality and sexual dysfunction, a study† consisting of 2,276 North American medical students was performed. The results are grouped here into two specific categories; Sexual Experiences and Sexual Dysfunction.

Sexual Experiences

Prevalence of Homosexuality

According to the study, 13.2% of male respondents and 4.7% of female respondents reported a homosexual orientation.

Prevalence of Bisexuality

2.5% of male respondents and 5.7% of female respondents reported a bisexual orientation.

Heterosexuals with Homosexual Experiences

4% of heterosexual males and 10% of heterosexual females reported same-sex sexual experiences.

Homosexuals with Heterosexual Experiences

37% of homosexual males and 44% of homosexual females reported opposite-sex experiences.

Sexual Dysfunction

Occurrence of Premature Ejaculation

16% of heterosexual males and 17% of homosexual males reported instances of premature ejaculation.

Occurrence of Erectile Dysfunction

12% of heterosexual males and 24% of homosexual males reported episodes of erectile dysfunction.

Female Sexual Dysfunction Rates

51% of heterosexual women, 45% of bisexual women and 29% of homosexual women reported instances of female sexual dysfunction.

Source:†Journal of Sexual Medicine / DOI 10.1111/j.1743-6109.2010.01794.x

Trends

Given the data above, several interesting trends based on sexual orientation are observed. Nearly three times as many men than women reported a homosexual orientation. The percentage of females claiming a bisexual orientation was more than double that of males. While the number of heterosexual males and females reporting a homosexual experience was relatively low, the percentage of homosexual males and females with heterosexual experiences was particularly high.

In terms of sexual dysfunction, the prevalence of premature ejaculation was similar among heterosexual and homosexual men. Erectile dysfunction was more common in homosexual men relative to heterosexual men. High risk for female sexual dysfunction was more common in heterosexual and bisexual women compared with lesbians.

Although these statistics only represent the characteristics of a small and distinct population, the outcome does raise some interesting questions. Why are men more likely to be of homosexual orientation than women? Why is the percentage of bisexual women more than double that of men? Perhaps more interesting, why does such a great percentage of homosexual males and females report to have had heterosexual experiences?

With regards to sexual dysfunction, although both heterosexual and homosexual males report approximately the same rates of premature ejaculation, why are homosexual men more likely to exhibit erectile dysfunction problems? For females, why is sexual dysfunction more prevalent among heterosexuals and bisexuals than homosexuals (lesbians)?

While the answers to these questions can only be revealed from further study, these preliminary results do show that noted differences exist among individuals based solely on sexual orientation. Scientific research into human sexuality as a whole has only just scratched the surface.

Even after decades of scientific research and discovery, the mysterious female G-Spot remains one of the most controversial subjects in the study of female sexuality. Questions such as, "Where is the G-Spot located?" and "Does the G-Spot even really exist?" continue to rank among the most frequently asked when the topic of female sexual anatomy and feminine desire are discussed. Even the results of a recent scientific debate on this subject does little to stem the continuing controversy. In fact, the opinions of some researchers suggest that the G-Spot may be even more complex than previously thought.

The Female G-Spot

The G-Spot refers to an area within the vagina that when stimulated is said to induce extremely intense and satisfying orgasms. Many believe it to be a fixed spot on the upper vaginal wall located approximately 2 inches inside the vagina. According to some researchers, this belief may be entirely too restricted as evidence points to much greater variations among women.

Scientific Debate

The results of a debate published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine (see original abstract entitled "Who's Afraid of the G-spot?") examines the views of six separate researchers and their subsequent findings regarding the G-Spot:

"Expert #1, who is JSM's Controversy section editor, reviewed histological data from the literature demonstrating the existence of discrete anatomical structures within the vaginal wall composing the G-spot. He also found that this region is not a constant, but can be highly variable from woman to woman."

Unlike earlier beliefs regarding the G-Spot, this new theory suggests that its exact location may in fact vary from one woman to the next. Although not endorsed by everyone, this theory has been supported by other researchers:

"These data are supported by the findings discussed by Expert #2, dealing with the history of the G-spot and by the fascinating experimental evidences presented by Experts #4 and #5, showing the dynamic changes in the G-spot during digital and penile stimulation. Experts #3 and #6 argue critically against the G-spot discussing the contrasting findings so far produced on the topic."

When all is said and done, there is still no real consensus on where exactly the G-Spot is located. If it does in fact reside in different locations depending upon each individual woman then this may explain why so few men are able to consistently produce G-Spot-induced orgasms in various partners. Ultimately what may work for one woman may have no result whatsoever in another!

The Importance of Proper Stimulation

Based on my own personal experiences, I don't particularly subscribe to a "magic button" philosophy. To me it seems unlikely that there's a specific area located within EVERY WOMAN that will generate an orgasm when stimulated. Since each woman is unique and has her own preferences, I feel that experimentation is the only way to guarantee success.

Another important factor to consider when attempting to incite orgasm in women (G-Spot induced or otherwise) is the total amount of stimulation supplied. This has a lot to do with the actual size of the penis, in particular the thickness of the penile shaft.

When the width of the penis is thicker a greater amount of surface area within the vagina is stimulated. This increases the chance of contact with the G-Spot regardless of wherever it may actually be located. This is probably why penis girth is such an important aspect to many women when it comes to sexual satisfaction.

While the debate over the G-Spot is likely to continue, I do wholeheartedly agree with the researchers ultimate conclusion:

"Although a huge amount of data (not always of good quality) have been accumulated in the last 60 years, we still need more research on one of the most challenging aspects of female sexuality."

In that respect I will continue to perform my own personal "research" into the mysteries of the G-Spot. I suggest that all men do likewise… for the sake of science of course!

What makes a woman orgasm? I'm not referring here to the physiological process, the chemical precursors that signal the onset of involuntary muscle contractions ultimately resulting in sexual climax. Instead, what contributing factors enable a woman to reach orgasm during regular penile-vaginal intercourse? A newly released study helps shed some light on this rather intriguing question. It also provides valuable insight into the inner workings of the female mind.

Four Contributing Factors of Vaginal Orgasm

According to the results of a study† published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine, consistency of vaginal orgasm is determined by four key factors:

Nature of early sex education.

Level of concentration during sex.

Duration of sexual intercourse.

The length of the penis.

Sex Education

As it turns out, the specifics of a woman's early sexual education largely determine how predisposed she is to achieving vaginal orgasm. If during adolescent years she learns to associate sex with the stimulation of her vagina, then later on in life she'll be more likely to reach orgasm through penile-vaginal intercourse (PVI).

Although this may at first seem to be of arbitrary importance, the fact is that many women experience orgasm through a variety of means. Unlike men who for the most part associate sexual pleasure with the penis, women are often aroused through the stimulation of several different parts of the body including, but not limited to, the vagina, clitoris, breasts (nipples in particular) and the anal opening.

This observation becomes significant when measured against prevailing ideologies that tend to focus on, and in many cases favor, the practice of ancillary techniques of stimulation, i.e. foreplay. While the true importance of foreplay in achieving orgasm remains controversial, there is no doubt that the psychological associations built early in life directly influence the adult sexual experience.

Level of Concentration

Along with above mentioned aspect of sexual education, the degree to which a woman concentrates on vaginal stimulation during intercourse also directly influences the likelihood of orgasm. If she largely associates pleasure with direct stimulation of her vagina and makes that the focal point of the experience then her chances of reaching climax increase dramatically.

The Duration of Intercourse

Simply put, the longer that sex lasts the more likely a woman is to achieve orgasm. This by itself is hardly ground-breaking news since it's common knowledge that most women have greater sexual stimulation requirements than men. Obviously each woman is different and has her own unique preferences.

Penis Length

This final factor is perhaps the one most commonly ignored (shunned?) by mainstream sexual doctrine. The size of a man's penis does in fact directly correlate with the amount of pleasure a woman experiences. While most clinical studies to date will systematically downplay the importance of penis size, the truth of the matter is that size counts. A large penis will stimulate a greater vaginal area and consequently improve the odds of reaching orgasm.

In addition to the actual physical characteristics of the penis, it is also thought that visual appearance itself may play a significant role in influencing levels of sexual arousal. The sight of a larger than average penis may very well activate a psychological response creating an environment in which woman are more susceptible to achieving climax.

Implications and Conclusions

This particular case study seems to reinforce many of the stereotypes associated with sex. Upbringing, attentiveness, performance and physiology all come together to shape a woman's sexual experience. The only puzzling part of the study is the conclusion (recommendation?) the researchers make:

"Focusing attention on penile–vaginal sensation supports vaginal orgasm and the myriad benefits thereof."

This statement conspicuously lacks mention of any of the other findings and addresses only one of the factors contributing to vaginal orgasm. As such it appears to remove from consideration the importance of the male side of the equation.

While I appreciate the research involved, I don't feel it necessary to be shielded from the simple truth – that female vaginal orgasm is as much dependent upon her partner as it is upon herself. We're adults, we can handle the fact that penis size and performance are vital components of the sexual experience. It isn't something to ignore, it's something to learn from and remedy.

For years therapists have counseled the importance of foreplay in the sexual experience. Faced with a brief and unsatisfying sex life, couples are often advised of pre-intercourse activities to help enhance pleasure. While foreplay does prolong sexual relations, the amount it actually contributes to reaching orgasm appears to have been somewhat exaggerated. Data from a new study suggests that the length of time for normal penis-vagina intercourse is a much more significant factor than foreplay when determining overall sexual fulfillment.

Objectives and Results

Recently published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine, this study examined the extent of association between three particular criteria (duration of foreplay, duration of penile-vaginal intercourse, and age) and the likelihood or consistency of partnered orgasm. It had been previously assumed that the probability of experiencing an orgasm was more determined by the duration of foreplay then by the duration of sex itself.

The results of the study tell quite a different story:

"In univariate analyses, consistency of partnered orgasm was more associated with penile–vaginal intercourse duration than with foreplay duration (consistency also correlated negatively with age). In multivariate analysis, foreplay ceased to be a significant correlate of partnered orgasm consistency…"

In other words, women are more likely to achieve orgasm during an extended period of sex than they are from foreplay. This appears to contradict earlier beliefs about the effectiveness of foreplay.

"When both sexual activity categories are examined in tandem on a population level, women's likelihood or consistency of partnered orgasm is associated with penile–vaginal intercourse duration, but not with foreplay duration. In contrast to the assumptions of many sex therapists and educators, more attention should be given to improve the quality and duration of penile–vaginal intercourse rather than foreplay."

For a much more in depth analysis, read the complete study.

Understanding The Implications

Before we repudiate sex therapists, it should be noted that this was a limited study – it consisted of 2,360 Czech women and was based on their own estimates. Data was not obtained through a monitored experiment but rather compiled from a written survey. This being the case, the results are hardly indicative of the entire female population and certainly subject to unintentional errors in memory or otherwise.

The study does, however, give great insight into the many complexities of sex. I for one wholeheartedly believe that foreplay is an important (and perhaps necessary) part of improving a relationship. But it should not be perceived as the end-all of sexual gratification.

Speaking from personal experience, I have come to recognize an obvious distinction in the level of arousal my partner displays while being orally pleased and when having intercourse. It's usually evidenced by the certain amount of hair pulling necessary to get me to replace my tongue with my penis.

While most women probably enjoy foreplay as much as they do penis-vagina intercourse, I have little doubt that when it comes right down to personal satisfaction, the latter is preferred. It's hardwired into the genes. Foreplay is fantastic, but natural urges demand some amount of penile penetration.

The problem that arises is when sex simply does not last long enough. Sure foreplay helps, but the real solution is to make intercourse itself last longer. Luckily today there are several top-rated methods that not only meet this requirement, but also serve to enlarge and strengthen the penis as well.

In the end, improving stamina and sexual performance are just parts of one common goal: the enhancement of the entire sexual experience. Using foreplay to spice up your love life is certainly valuable, but it will never replace the act of sex itself.

There probably aren't too many men out there who haven't experienced at least some form of sexual frustration at one point in their lives. The truth is, we've all been there and felt the strain it can put on our relationships. While the reasons for becoming frustrated sexually are not always clear, there is one prevailing factor that can often be associated with the problem. It is this common denominator that can lead to a lack of self-esteem and effectively ruin your sex life. We're talking about the very important issue of penis size.

Worries About Penis Size

Studies have shown that almost half of all men interviewed about penis size are unsatisfied with their own penile dimensions. Almost 50% of men questioned wish that the length and thickness of their manhood was increased! This percentage constitutes an unimaginably large number of men from across the globe who have been plagued with insecurity from early adolescence and wished all of their adult lives that they could have a larger penis.

The lack of self-confidence that accompanies these feelings of inadequacy can often take its toll on relationships. Men can become less interested in sex when they feel inadequate in the penis size department. No matter what reassurances their partners give them, they will continue to feel insecure about their sexual performance. This can lead to arguments, unsatisfying sex and even the outright stoppage of sexual intercourse itself.

Fortunately this situation can be remedied quite easily by addressing the underlying problem. By increasing your penis size you not only help boost your sexual confidence but also revitalize your sex life and bring new pleasure to both you and your partner. If you're currently 5-6 inches in length, just imagine how much better you would feel with a 7-9 inch penis. Let's just say, your relationship will soon feel the difference!

Naturally Increasing Penis Size

You can increase your penis size by up to 2.75 inches in as little as 24 weeks by using a type 1 medical penis enlargement device. These devices have been medically proven to enlarge the penis.
Benefits Of Using SizeGenetics

Improve erection hardness for 100% engorgement

Fix curves in penis shaft by up to 70%

As the days grow longer and the temperatures rise, the summer season can bring new excitement to your sex life. Summer is a time to vacation and relax and draw closer to your significant other. Clinically, our libido in the summer is higher than any other season because of an increase in dopamine and serotonin, stimulating our sexual urges. Here are a few hot ideas to keep your summer steamy and sexy with your lady!

The hot summer sun brings more skin exposure needing protection from those harmful sun rays. This gives you a perfect opportunity to get closer to your lady by applying sunscreens and after-tan lotions to her skin. As you do, pay careful attention to her skin. Touch her gently as you apply lotion and show her by your touch how much you adore her. She will no doubt want to return the favor, leading you both to an exotic sexual place!

When the weather is hot, why not try a sexy cool down with some ice cube play? Some well-placed strokes to her neck or her nipples, along with some random play wherever your imagination takes you will keep her guessing and get her excited. Mix up the ice play with some hot kisses while the ice melts over your bodies.

Skinny dipping has always been popular for many reasons and is an experience that should not be missed. Maybe it is the thrill of getting caught, or the luscious feeling of wet bodies sliding together, groping each other and kissing passionately in the moonlight. There is definitely NO indoor activity that can compare to this adventure! One word of caution if your underwater antics lead you to some submersed love making: heavy thrusting can cause discomfort to your lady, so save that for when you're in bed. Remember to keep it slow and gentle until you both dry off!

The best part of summer is getting away from it all, being footloose and fancy free if only for a few days. Taking advantage of not having the stress of work and everyday life, just being able to relax and enjoy the weather and each other, is the greatest part of a summer vacation. Many couples experience the best sex of their lives while on vacation together, so live it up!

Love potion #9 doesn't exist. So what is the secret to a long lasting and fulfilling sexual relationship? Connecting romantically to the opposite sex is more of a sensory ritual rather than something that can be controlled by a change in behavior geared to accommodate each individual. It is important to not only be in tune with your physical senses, but also what makes the other person tick. This article will examine the role the five senses play in the laws of attraction.

SENSE OF SIGHT

While this may seem to be the most obvious, studies have shown that it takes more than a physical attraction to fall in love with someone. Being "beautiful on the inside" plays a large role in complementing appearance. When two people are in a loving, committed relationship, the world around them melts. Flirting and body language have also been shown to make or break a first impression. When people are compatible, they often mirror each others body language, giving the message that there is a trust and a bond forming between them. These actions are often very subtle, but powerful.

SENSE OF SMELL

We have all seen commercials for those body sprays, where women shed their clothes on contact with anyone wearing them, but how real is this? According to recent studies, those ads are not too far off. 3 men were subject of the study: one man was doused with an artificial pheromone, the second man wore aftershave, and the third man had just had a vigorous workout and was sweaty. A blindfolded woman smelled all three and which did she prefer? Aftershave guy won, hands down.

SENSE OF SOUND

Your tone and the inflection of your voice makes up 38% of what people think of you. Going basically hand in hand with appearance, a pleasant voice has been known to make someone appear more attractive. This is translated the most through laughter, which is the greatest conveyance of positive feelings toward someone. Perhaps this is because we tend to laugh at even the most mundane subjects when we are stimulated by the presence of another. Using sound can also be a major sensual turn on for women when you gently whisper in her ear, especially while making love.

SENSE OF TASTE

Why is kissing so erotic? This is where the sense of taste comes in. Kissing is one way of tasting the pheromones of your lover, telling you whether or not you are sexually compatible. Enjoying the same types of foods is very arousing. And as a fantastic side benefit, food, especially fruit, can affect the flavor of semen, enhancing oral sex for both of you! Other foods are known to be aphrodisiacs, such as raw oysters, chocolate, asparagus, and bananas, and can be consumed in anticipation of an amazing night of passion!

SENSE OF TOUCH

Ever play footsies? If you tried that with a stranger, they would probably be annoyed. But with your significant other? Foreplay! Gentle touches, brushing up against each other, are all signs of desire. Unlike the other four senses, which are localized, your sense of touch is all over your body. When sensitive areas are touched, a message is sent to your brain usually leading to some sort of reaction. The most sensitive areas of the body are the neck, hands, lips, face, tongue, fingertips and feet. Exploring each other's bodies may also uncover other hot spots which will become a sexual secret that the two of you can share.

When you are initially attracted to someone, the five senses kick into gear and you begin the journey of getting closer to one another as your relationship develops. No doubt, incorporating the awareness that these senses bring will lead to a more satisfying sex life as well!

To ejaculate, or not to ejaculate: that is the question (for this week's installment anyway). It's probably safe to say that most men, at some point in their lives, have contemplated abstaining from sexual activities for some period of time. But is there a benefit to refraining from ejaculation or are we instead, fruitlessly trying to suppress one of the body's natural processes?

From the time we reach puberty, men undergo a series of changes that inevitably transform us into who we are today. One of the first of these major changes is when we begin to produce semen and sperm. Within a short period of time the body's natural chemistry and hormonal systems are modified and certain sexual urges begin to manifest. This is all part of a natural biological process that has evolved since the dawn of man.

This does not, however, mean we cannot choose to control this mechanism and essentially quash our natural sexual compulsions. Certainly many bodily systems are not governed by the mind, but the decision to ejaculate is our choice alone.

The body of course is not without it's own say in the matter. This is especially true when we are younger as any who have experienced "nocturnal emissions" will attest. The testicles produce on average about 170 million sperm cells each day. It is both normal and overwhelming for the body to want to release this accumulation. When the consciousness lies dormant during sleep, the body can reassert dominion which often results in fluid release (and some messy sheets).

But why would anyone want to suppress an urge that is as natural as say, eating? Modern thinking tells us that we should be more attune to our body's needs and desires in order to promote better health. The male sexual system is designed for a purpose (namely the propagation of our species) and to interfere with this process is futile. Or is it?

The ancient Taoist monks felt that sperm contained the life essence of man. By refraining from ejaculation for periods of time they believed that this energy could be stored and increased. Granted, these monks were not living normal everyday lives like most of us. Instead they spent years practicing Chi Kung sets and meditations in order to enhance their physical bodies and ultimately reach enlightenment.

While such long-standing goals are probably not for the majority of us, a most definite impact can be felt when abstaining from sexual activity for a lengthy amount of time. This is especially true of those who may be undertaking a natural enhancement method that requires regular manual stimulation. Consequences often include an increase in the frequency of arousal, noticeable upswings in sexual cravings and an overwhelming desire to "come."

It can also heighten the actual moment of ejaculation many times over. All of the sexual fluids that are manufactured daily are being stockpiled. This will result in a larger amount of ejaculate released and consequently a longer orgasm duration. Ultimately, this translates to a more pleasurable experience.

In the end, the choice to abstain from any sort of sexual activity is a personal one. There is no scientific data to support evidence for it being beneficial or otherwise. It is however your own body so you shouldn't be afraid to experiment. I personally believe that the limits of sexuality should always be explored. Mix it up! Life is full of little discoveries that most people never get to experience.

Although there have been many "sex toys" created to facilitate sexual pleasure, the most well known, such as vibrators and dildos, are primarily designed for female use. One specific device however, the cock ring, was invented solely for male use. But what exactly are cock rings used for and what are the potential benefits and dangers of using them?

A cock ring is a circular band that is usually worn around the base of a man's penis. Some versions can also be wrapped around both the penis and scrotum, or just the scrotum alone, although these types are usually referred to as testicle cuffs.

Cock rings can be made from a variety of different materials such as leather, rubber, silicone, nylon and even sometimes metal. There are literally dozens of different types of cock rings, too many in fact to cover in this article alone.

There are basically three primary reasons why men use cock rings:

To slow the leakage of blood from the erect penile tissue. This is helpful for men who suffer from erectile dysfunction (ED) or those who otherwise wish to extend erections for a longer period of time.

As a sex toy. Some men enjoy the particular sensation of tightness and extra engorgement that wearing a cock ring provides. They are also known to enhance erections and intensify orgasmic sensations.

As jewelry. Many men, and some women for that matter, find the appearance of cock rings to be very attractive and erotic.

While their usage has recently become more popular, there is some danger associated with wearing cock rings. If they are too tight or worn for too long a period of time, men risk the possibility of experiencing priapism, an erection that lasts for more than 4 hours. If not treated this can result in severe and permanent damage to the penis.

As a general rule, if you experience any pain, discomfort or numbness in the genitals while wearing a cock ring, you should immediately remove it. They should also not be used by those who suffer from cardiovascular problems, diabetes or those who are taking blood-thinning medications.

Cock rings can be an excellent way to add some extra excitement and stimulation to your sex life. Just take care when using them and make sure to follow the instructions that come with the device.
