The human penis comes in all shapes and sizes. There are penises that are short, long, skinny, fat and everything else in between. Some penises appear small when flaccid (soft) but grow tremendously in size when erect. Others may already look large without being erect but really don't seem to change all that much when they become hard. With all these different variations, one question still remains: Is there such a thing as a perfect or ideal penis size? Some feel the answer to that question can be found using a simple bit of math.
How Do You Measure Up?
Have you ever taken the time to actually measure your penis? If you're like most men then the answer is probably yes. The fascination we have with our penises is something all men share since early childhood. Wanting to know exactly how big we are is simply the normal progression of that curiosity.
If you've never before measured your penis, let's take a moment now to determine your erect length. All you will need is a ruler (and an erection). You can make sure that you're measuring correctly by reading these penis measuring instructions – see the section on "Measuring The Erect Length".
Once you have that measurement, write it down on a piece of paper and place it to the side. Next we'll do a bit of math to determine if your penis size supposedly correlates with your overall physical size.
The "10% Rule"
According to some, the size of your penis should be directly proportional to the height of your body. This is known as the 10% Rule. It simply states that your erect penis length should be approximately 10% of your body height.
For instance, let's say that you are 5 feet 8 inches tall. The first thing you need to do is to convert your height into inches only. Since 1 foot equals 12 inches, your total height in inches will be 68 (5 feet = 60 inches, plus the additional 8).
Now take that number (68) and multiply it by .10 (10 percent). The result will be 6.8 inches. According to the 10% rule, your penis should be equal to that measurement when erect.
Reality Isn't Perfect
If your penis size doesn't match the prediction, don't worry. This measurement represents only what some people believe is the perfect penis size for your body. It is far from a hard and fast rule and you may just as soon find that your penis is either bigger or smaller than predicted.
If you have practiced any method of natural penis enlargement then the results are most likely way off. Some techniques like those that involve stretching devices, exercises or penis enhancement supplements can add upwards of 3 inches to your length which will greatly skew the results.
In reality, there is no such thing as a perfect penis size. Just as each man is unique, so too is each penis. To assume that such an ideal size exists is nothing more than wishful thinking.
The perfect sized penis is the one that you are comfortable with and that your partner enjoys. There is of course nothing wrong with wanting to increase your size. Just keep in mind that perfection exists, like many things, only in the eye of the beholder.
