Pomegranate is a fruit that is often praised for the many health benefits it provides. With that in mind, it really comes as no surprise that some manufacturers of penis enhancement pills are now beginning to incorporate pomegranate extract into their products. While this may be a new development for the penis enhancement industry in general, there is no shortage of scientific research to validate the powerful properties contained within pomegranate juice itself. If ever there was a fruit which could be called the "ultimate natural enhancer," pomegranate may just fit the bill.
The Properties of Pomegranate
There are many varieties of pomegranate but they all share one thing in common – they provide the body with much needed vitamins and nutrients. The juice from the pomegranate berries are filled with anthocyanins, ellagic acid and tannins, all of which function as antioxidants. These antioxidants prevent free radicals in the body from destroying healthy cells and help combat many diseases including heart disease, arthritis, high blood pressure, bronchitis, LDL (bad) cholesterol and more.
Pomegranate berries are also filled with fiber, potassium and plenty of Vitamin C. These components help the body fight off colds and keep the digestive system functioning properly.
Scientific Studies on Pomegranate Benefits
Research has shown that pomegranates contain a wide variety of precious phytochemical compounds that can help in the fields of therapeutics and health care. These are just a few of the most recent clinical studies which have demonstrated the various health benefits of pomegranate.
Pomegranate Juice for Healthy Hearts
"Pomegranate juice is a polyphenol-rich fruit juice with high antioxidant capacity. In limited studies in human and murine models, pomegranate juice has been shown to exert significant antiatherogenic, antioxidant, antihypertensive, and anti-inflammatory effects. Pomegranate juice significantly reduced atherosclerotic lesion areas in immune-deficient mice and intima media thickness in cardiac patients on medications. It also decreased lipid peroxidation in patients with type 2 diabetes, and systolic blood pressure and serum angiotensin converting enzyme activity in hypertensive patients. Thus, the potential cardioprotective benefits of pomegranate juice deserve further clinical investigation, and evidence to date suggests it may be prudent to include this fruit juice in a heart-healthy diet."

Pomegranate for Skin Protection
"Solar ultraviolet (UV) radiation, particularly its UVB (290–320 nm) component, is the primary cause of many adverse biological effects including photoageing and skin cancer. UVB radiation causes DNA damage, protein oxidation and induces matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs). Photochemoprevention via the use of botanical antioxidants in affording protection to human skin against UVB damage is receiving increasing attention. Pomegranate, from the tree Punica granatum, contains anthocyanins and hydrolysable tannins and possesses strong antioxidant and anti-tumor-promoting properties. In this study, we determined the effect of pomegranate-derived products – POMx juice, POMx extract and pomegranate oil (POMo) – against UVB-mediated damage using reconstituted human skin (EpiDermTM FT-200)… Gelatin zymography revealed that pomegranate-derived products inhibited UVB-induced MMP-2 and MMP-9 activities. Pomegranate-derived products also caused a decrease in UVB-induced protein expression of c-Fos and phosphorylation of c-Jun. Collectively, these results suggest that all three pomegranate-derived products may be useful against UVB-induced damage to human skin."

Pomegranate Juice for Oral Health
"Pomegranate components have properties that could promote oral health, including reducing the risk of gingivitis. The present study examined young adults (n = 32, split evenly among both genders), for the effects of 4 weeks of thrice daily mouth rinsing with the pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) extract PomElla® dissolved in water. This treatment changed salivary measures relevant to oral health including gingivitis. The changes were: reduced total protein (which can correlate with plaque forming bacteria readings), reduced activities of aspartate aminotransferase (an indicator of cell injury), reduced alpha-glucosidase activity (a sucrose degrading enzyme), increased activities of the antioxidant enzyme ceruloplasmin (which could give better protection against oral oxidant stress) and increased radical scavenging capacity (though this increase was significant only by nonparametric statistical analysis). A placebo of cornstarch in water did not affect these measures. These data raise the possibility of using pomegranate extracts in oral health products such as toothpaste and mouthwashes."

Polyphenols/Pomegranate For Cardiovascular Health
"Dietary patterns are widely recognised as contributors to cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease. Endothelial function, the elastic properties of large arteries and the magnitude and timing of wave reflections are important determinants of cardiovascular performance. Several epidemiological studies suggest that the regular consumption of foods and beverages rich in flavonoids is associated with a reduction in the risk of several pathological conditions ranging from hypertension to coronary heart disease, stroke and dementia. The impairment of endothelial function is directly related to ageing and an association between decreased cerebral perfusion and dementia has been shown to exist. Cerebral blood flow (CBF) must be maintained to ensure a constant delivery of oxygen and glucose as well as the removal of waste products. Increasing blood flow is one potential way for improving brain function and the prospect for increasing CBF with dietary polyphenols is extremely promising. The major polyphenols shown to have some of these effects in humans are primarily from cocoa, wine, grape seed, berries, tea, tomatoes (polyphenolics and nonpolyphenolics), soy and pomegranate. There has been a significant paradigm shift in polyphenol research during the last decade. This review summarises our current knowledge in this area and points the way for the development of new types of functional foods targeted to brain health through improving vascular health."

Pomegranate and Penis Enhancement
With all of the health benefits that pomegranate provides, it's easy to understand why incorporating this fruit is the logical evolution in penis enhancement supplementation. When taken regularly, pomegranate helps to:
- Increase blood supply which promotes stronger erections
- Elevate levels of nitric oxide which serves to relax blood-vessel walls and prevent erectile dysfunction
- Enhance skin protection
- Improve overall immune system health and functioning
These benefits are vital components to effectively enhancing the penis. Not only does pomegranate increase your sexual functioning and response, it also serves to boost your sex drive which helps you perform better in bed.
The great thing about penis enhancement supplements containing pomegranate is that you don't actually have to consume large amounts of the fruit each day. For instance, the product supplied by MaleExtra™ contains an incredible 500mg of pure Pomegranate 70% ellagic per daily serving. Not only does this give you the highest concentration of pomegranate available in penis enhancement pill form, it also delivers it in a method that is easily digestible for quicker absorption into the body.
When further combined with an effective penis enlargement exercise program, these pills serve to enhance your results and allow for quicker gains in size. Improving blood circulation is one of the key factors to naturally accelerating penis growth.
If you're looking to lead an active sex life while at the same time improving both your penile functioning and size, pomegranate works as an excellent solution. Instead of resorting to chemical-laden pharmaceutical drugs, let nature provide its own unique remedy – pomegranate!
