To ejaculate, or not to ejaculate: that is the question (for this week's installment anyway). It's probably safe to say that most men, at some point in their lives, have contemplated abstaining from sexual activities for some period of time. But is there a benefit to refraining from ejaculation or are we instead, fruitlessly trying to suppress one of the body's natural processes?

From the time we reach puberty, men undergo a series of changes that inevitably transform us into who we are today. One of the first of these major changes is when we begin to produce semen and sperm. Within a short period of time the body's natural chemistry and hormonal systems are modified and certain sexual urges begin to manifest. This is all part of a natural biological process that has evolved since the dawn of man.

This does not, however, mean we cannot choose to control this mechanism and essentially quash our natural sexual compulsions. Certainly many bodily systems are not governed by the mind, but the decision to ejaculate is our choice alone.

The body of course is not without it's own say in the matter. This is especially true when we are younger as any who have experienced "nocturnal emissions" will attest. The testicles produce on average about 170 million sperm cells each day. It is both normal and overwhelming for the body to want to release this accumulation. When the consciousness lies dormant during sleep, the body can reassert dominion which often results in fluid release (and some messy sheets).

But why would anyone want to suppress an urge that is as natural as say, eating? Modern thinking tells us that we should be more attune to our body's needs and desires in order to promote better health. The male sexual system is designed for a purpose (namely the propagation of our species) and to interfere with this process is futile. Or is it?

The ancient Taoist monks felt that sperm contained the life essence of man. By refraining from ejaculation for periods of time they believed that this energy could be stored and increased. Granted, these monks were not living normal everyday lives like most of us. Instead they spent years practicing Chi Kung sets and meditations in order to enhance their physical bodies and ultimately reach enlightenment.

While such long-standing goals are probably not for the majority of us, a most definite impact can be felt when abstaining from sexual activity for a lengthy amount of time. This is especially true of those who may be undertaking a natural enhancement method that requires regular manual stimulation. Consequences often include an increase in the frequency of arousal, noticeable upswings in sexual cravings and an overwhelming desire to "come."

It can also heighten the actual moment of ejaculation many times over. All of the sexual fluids that are manufactured daily are being stockpiled. This will result in a larger amount of ejaculate released and consequently a longer orgasm duration. Ultimately, this translates to a more pleasurable experience.

In the end, the choice to abstain from any sort of sexual activity is a personal one. There is no scientific data to support evidence for it being beneficial or otherwise. It is however your own body so you shouldn't be afraid to experiment. I personally believe that the limits of sexuality should always be explored. Mix it up! Life is full of little discoveries that most people never get to experience.

Over the past few years, the popularity and complexity of natural penis exercise routines has grown significantly. There are now thousands of websites devoted specifically to the practice. While many of the programs available today differ in style, most use some variant of the same techniques such as kegels, jelqing and various other stretching methods. One thing, however, that seems to be universally accepted is the importance of refraining from ejaculation for a period of time during the training.

It's not difficult for most men to understand why they should not ejaculate when performing an enlargement routine. While some exercises are performed when the penis is flaccid, the majority require an erect or semi-erect state to be effective. If you reach orgasm during a routine your penis will (usually) go limp and affect your ability to continue.

For many programs there is also a "3 hour window" where it is recommended that you abstain from ejaculation. While this suggested time period varies from one program to the next, the majority (if not all) agree that ejaculating prior to, and following a workout, must be avoided.

The main reason for this rule is to prevent the penile tissues from becoming exhausted. If you ejaculate too soon before a session, the penis will not be energetic enough to perform many of the strenuous routines. This will hinder the effectiveness of advanced techniques, such as girth-work, which require a consistently high level of erection.

Abstaining from ejaculation after a penis workout is also important for proper healing and recovery. Following the "warm-down" at the end of a routine, the penis is often highly engorged with blood and extremely sensitive. The blood flowing within the penis nourishes the tissues and allows the healing and repairing process to continue. Ejaculating too soon afterward will prematurely stop the increased blood flow and rapidly dissipate the stored energy. In essence, recovery will take place in a less than desirable state.

That being said, I do not subscribe to a philosophy that sacrifices personal happiness for the sake of maximizing gains. If you are in a sexual relationship you have an obligation to your partner and abstaining from sex for extended periods of time may not be possible. A shorter time frame, such as 30-60 minutes before and after your workouts, is much more feasible for most.

Ultimately the reason for practicing natural penis enlargement is to improve the overall sexual experience for both partners. Denying yourself the pleasure that comes from great sex is not, in my opinion, a fair trade for somewhat faster penis growth.
