In recent years, great strides have been made in the battle against Erectile Dysfunction (ED). While the most publicized of remedies often involves prescription drugs, other less invasive (and less costly) treatments have also been shown to be highly effective. In fact, case studies have proven that certain natural techniques such as 'pelvic floor exercises' can help to both prevent and reverse erectile dysfunction problems. Here we'll look at one particular study conducted to examine the role of pelvic floor muscle exercises in restoring erectile function.

This specific study entitled 'Pelvic floor exercises for erectile dysfunction' was conducted at the Somerset Nuffield Hospital located in the United Kingdom. It included 55 men split into two groups – the 'control' group and the 'intervention' group.

The control group consisted of men who were advised of certain lifestyle changes. These included reducing alcohol consumption, quitting smoking and losing weight… in general, living a more healthy lifestyle. The intervention group was also advised of these lifestyle changes but in addition were taught pelvic floor exercises to be performed on a regular basis.

RESULTS

"After 3 months, the erectile function of men in the intervention group was significantly better than in the control group (P < 0.001). Control patients who were given the intervention also significantly improved 3 months later (P < 0.001). After 6 months, blind assessment showed that 40% of men had regained normal erectile function, 35.5% improved but 24.5% failed to improve."

CONCLUSION

"This study suggests that pelvic floor exercises should be considered as a first-line approach for men seeking long-term resolution of their erectile dysfunction."

While the researchers were a bit surprised by the lack of improvement in the group following lifestyle changes only, it is possible that it simply takes more time for such changes to show positive effects. Removing unhealthy practices such as smoking and excessive drinking are still certainly excellent suggestions for any man to consider.

Ultimately the findings from this study show that pelvic floor muscle exercises do indeed improve erectile function. As someone who has personally incorporated these techniques into my own daily exercise regimen, I can certainly vouch for their effectiveness. Not only do they help to improve erection hardness and strength, with enough practice they also bring about greater control and increase sexual stamina.

If you'd like to learn how to perform these and other types of exercises, head on over to PenisHealth. Their program includes over 300 videos and photos designed to teach you proper technique. Many of the exercises you will learn also work to naturally increase the overall size (length and thickness) of the penis itself.
