In recent years, specialized 'jelq devices' have been created that mimic this jelqing action. Here we'll discuss some important tips for using the device and getting the most out of your workout.</p>
<ul>
<li>When using any type of mechanical penis device, it is very important to start off slowly. You usually begin in a flaccid (non-erect) state and pull upwards from the base towards the head of the penis.</li>
<li>As the penis becomes more erect you can slowly begin to increase the intensity and pressure of your grip on the device. While you should be using a firm hold, be careful not to squeeze too aggressively.</li>
<li>During the course of your workout you can begin to vary the intensity of your grip. You might try increasing the pressure while pulling upwards and then relaxing your grip a bit as you slide back.</li>
<li>You should also experiment with adjusting the speed in which you perform each repetition. For instance, you might want to use a faster stroke during the first few minutes and then gradually slow down as the penis becomes harder.</li>
<li>Near the end of your workout, when the penis is almost fully erect, you can concentrate the pressure near the base and try a pull/squeeze technique for additional stimulation.</li>
<li>Beginners should always limit the amount of time that the jelq device is used until the penis adjusts and adapts to the new pressure. An average experienced user will generally perform a workout for approximately 20-30 minutes per day, time permitting.</li>

There are now thousands of websites devoted specifically to the practice. While many of the programs available today differ in style, most use some variant of the same techniques such as kegels, jelqing and various other stretching methods. One thing, however, that seems to be universally accepted is the importance of refraining from ejaculation for a period of time during the training.</p>
<p>It's not difficult for most men to understand why they should not ejaculate when performing an enlargement routine. While some exercises are performed when the penis is flaccid, the majority require an erect or semi-erect state to be effective. If you reach orgasm during a routine your penis will (usually) go limp and affect your ability to continue.</p>
<p>For many programs there is also a "3 hour window" where it is recommended that you abstain from ejaculation. While this suggested time period varies from one program to the next, the majority (if not all) agree that ejaculating prior to, and following a workout, must be avoided.</p>
<p>The main reason for this rule is to prevent the penile tissues from becoming exhausted. If you ejaculate too soon before a session, the penis will not be energetic enough to perform many of the strenuous routines. This will hinder the effectiveness of advanced techniques, such as girth-work, which require a consistently high level of erection.</p>
<p>Abstaining from ejaculation after a penis workout is also important for proper healing and recovery. Following the "warm-down" at the end of a routine, the penis is often highly engorged with blood and extremely sensitive. The blood flowing within the penis nourishes the tissues and allows the healing and repairing process to continue. Ejaculating too soon afterward will prematurely stop the increased blood flow and rapidly dissipate the stored energy. In essence, recovery will take place in a less than desirable state.</p>
<p>That being said, I do not subscribe to a philosophy that sacrifices personal happiness for the sake of maximizing gains. If you are in a sexual relationship you have an obligation to your partner and abstaining from sex for extended periods of time may not be possible. A shorter time frame, such as 30-60 minutes before and after your workouts, is much more feasible for most.</p>
<p>Ultimately the reason for practicing natural penis enlargement is to improve the overall sexual experience for both partners. Denying yourself the pleasure that comes from great sex is not, in my opinion, a fair trade for somewhat faster penis growth.</p>

<p><em>i started doing exercises on my penis for about 2 weeks. i did regular stretches that lasted 30 seconds. i used the v-stretch and bundle stretches a few times. I also jelqed. i gained about half a inch in those 2 weeks. after i stopped for about a week i noticed it was going back down to the size it was before i started the exercises. i was wondering why this happened. i heard if you over do the exercises something like this would happen. i think i over did it with the jelqing.</em></p>

<p>Hi George,</p>
<p>I don't believe that you over did it, instead I feel that you didn't give it enough time. Penis exercises are a very specialized form of exercise. You are training a part of the body that most men don't so it does take some extra effort.</p>
<p>To be honest with you, 2 weeks is not a very long time to be practicing these exercises. If you stop your training too soon then you are likely to lose the gains you have made. After your body becomes more accustomed to the exercises it will have better retention and you will find that you do not lose the extra size you created.</p>
<p>Another thing that helps is to use supplements during your training. I'm not sure if you were just doing exercises or whether you were taking any herbals along with it, but I always recommend using a combination of the two. Quality supplements help to increase blood flow to the region which keeps the penis in a more active state. This means that you are stimulating your penis even while you are not exercising it and can help to solidify any gains that you make. While it is far safer than radical procedures such as penis surgery, there are still some precautions and safety tips that should be considered while performing such exercises. Here are a few suggestions for men practicing natural penis exercises which should both ensure safety as well as provide the best results.</p>
<p><strong>Penis Jelqing Methods</strong></p>
<p>Jelqing is an enlargement technique that uses a milking action to improve the flow of blood to the penis and increase the total capacity of the erectile tissues (called the corpus cavernosa) to hold more blood. It is performed using an 'ok' grip with either one or both hands and is ultimately designed to stretch and drive more blood towards the tip of the penis.</p>
<p>Jelq Safety Tips:</p>
<ul>
<li>This exercise should be done while the penis is in a semi-erect state. It will not be effective if done in the fully erect state and can cause skin irritation if done while the penis is flaccid.</li>
<li>Do no squeeze the penis too tightly or the flow of blood will be interrupted.</li>
<li>It is often recommended to alternate hands while performing this exercise so as not to exhaust your grip.</li>
<li>Lubricants or oils can be used to help reduce friction and avoid skin irritation.</li>
<li>Avoid over-exercising. Most programs suggest performing exercises no longer than 10 to 15 minutes each day to avoid excessive stress to the erectile tissues.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Penis Stretching</strong></p>
<p>Penis stretching techniques are primarily geared towards increasing the shaft length and working the suspensory ligaments. While some people use weights to perform the stretch, it is far safer and equally as effective to simply use your hands.</p>
<p>Stretching Safety Tips:</p>
<ul>
<li>This method should only performed while the penis is in it's flaccid (soft) state. Attempting to stretch the penis while it is erect can result in irritation or even damage to the penis.</li>
<li>Do not overstretch. There are limits to the flexibility of the suspensory ligaments, and while this will increase over time and with practice, it is always advisable to stay within your normal physical tolerance; if you feel pain you are overdoing it.</li>
<li>As with Jelqing, it is always recommended to not over-exercise your penis and limit your routine to no more than 15 minutes.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Kegel Exercises</strong></p>
<p>Kegels are designed to exercise the PC (pubococcygeus) muscle in men and helps to prolong intercourse by improving ejaculation control. They involve performing contractions of the PC muscle which can be done in quick or longer repetitions.</p>
<p>Kegel Safety Tips:</p>
<ul>
<li>In order for this exercise to be effective, make sure you are exercising the correct muscle. The PC muscle can be identified as the muscle that contracts when urination is stopped in mid-stream.</li>
<li>Do not over-perform this technique. Approximately 10 sets per day of this exercise (varying in contraction duration) is advisable.</li>
</ul>
<p>Following the previous safety guidelines will ensure that you do not over-stress your penis and allows you to achieve the best results. The following exercise, called The Jelq, is one of the oldest and most famous techniques for exercising the penis. While the exact origin of this exercise is not known, many believe it was developed within the Arabic culture and that it dates back several hundred years.</p>
<p>There are many advanced jelq methods and while the following is only the most basic, it remains a great starter exercise for strengthening and thickening the penis. In essence it works by increasing the flow of blood to the Corpora Cavernosa which over time expands and stretches. This stimulates the soft tissues and cells within the penis and, after adequate rest and healing, allows them to develop and rebuild stronger.</p>
<p><strong>The Jelq</strong></p>
<p>Prior to starting this exercise, the Warm Up Cloth and Long Stretch, both detailed in parts one and two of this series, respectively, should be performed.</p>
<p>The jelq technique can be done either in a sitting or standing position. Beginning with a partially erect penis, grasp the base of the penis between index finger and thumb using an 'OK' sign hand gesture. Using a firm grip and moderate pressure, slowly slide your hand down the penis driving blood into it's tip. This motion is often referred to as 'milking' in penis exercise routines. It is important to do this very slowly, taking at least 4-5 seconds for each sliding stroke.</p>
<p>As your hand nears the end of the shaft, grasp the base of the penis with your other hand using the same grip and release the hand that has reached the head. Perform the exact same milking procedure again, only this time with the opposite hand that is now near the base of the penis. As that hand reaches the tip of the penis, once again re-grasp the base with your free hand and release your grip on the hand that has reached the tip. This method follows a sort of 'pass over' system and should be easy to adopt with practice. Perform the entire cycle approximately 8 to 10 times for each hand.</p>
<p>The stimulation from this jelqing technique will force the cells within the penis to become engorged with blood. With adequate healing and recovery, these tissues will adapt to hold a greater volume of blood.</p>
<p>If you've never done this penis technique before, a certain amount of soreness should be expected. However, like any other type of exercise, your body will learn to adapt over time to the new stimulation.</p>
