Before we get to the article itself, let's learn a little about the source. Formerly known as the British Journal of Urology, the BJUI was first established in 1929 and covers the field of urology. Urology is the medical and surgical specialty that focuses on the urinary tracts of males and females, and on the reproductive system of males.

The BJUI publishes peer-reviewed papers on urological oncology, evidence-based medicine, sexual medicine, laparoscopic and robotic urology, upper and lower urinary tract, reconstructive, pediatric, and investigative urology. It is the official journal of the British Association of Urological Surgeons, Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand, The Urological Society of India, and The Caribbean Urological Association.

Why am I spending time talking about the BJUI? Aside from the fact that you should always know the source of information, I want to make it clear that this is no crack-pot organization. Membership is composed of Doctors, Surgeons, Scientists and Researchers who excel in their practices and are considered some of the top minds in their field.

The Article – Non-invasive methods of penile lengthening: fact or fiction?

The aforementioned article is entitled "Non-invasive methods of penile lengthening: fact or fiction?" The abstract from the article reads:

"Penile size is a matter of great interest among men who are affected by 'short penis syndrome' or just believe themselves to have a small penis, even though the dimensions of the organ fall within the normal range. Surgical procedures of 'lengthening phalloplasty' lack standardized indications and carry a high risk of complications. Several non-invasive methods of penile lengthening have been described, such as vacuum devices, penile traction devices and penoscrotal rings; even 'physical exercises' have been popularized through the media. Most of these techniques, however, are not supported by any scientific evidence. We briefly analyse the efficacy and scientific background of such non-surgical methods of penile lengthening."

It's important to note that they are referencing "non-invasive" methods of penis enlargement. Penis surgery is considered an "invasive" method since it involves the actual cutting of skin and tissues. The article continues:

"It seems that penile extenders represent the only evidence-based technique of penile elongation. Results achieved do not seem to be inferior to surgery, making these traction devices an ideal first-line treatment option for patients seeking a penile lengthening procedure."

Although this conclusion may be unnecessary for the thousands of men across the globe who have already successfully enlarged their penises using traction devices (also called penis extenders), it is nice to see some confirmation from a published and reputable source. It is not the first scientific affirmation of the effectiveness of penis extender devices but it does somewhat help reduce the stigma commonly associated with natural penis enlargement.

I hope and anticipate that future medical studies and reports will continue to surface and bring about a greater understanding of the options men have when seeking to enlarge their penis. The Science Behind Penile Traction

Back in July we reported on a newly released study regarding the efficacy of penis extenders. Not only did this trial conclude that these devices were effective at correcting penile curvature (the primary objective of the study), it also noted that an actual increase in penis size was observed. While this important fact was only briefly mentioned, it did not escape our attention that the scientific community had just validated a non-surgical method of penis enlargement.

The Latest Penis Extender Study

A new study has now emerged that focuses solely on the effectiveness of these devices in the treatment of 'short penis' – in other words, do they actually help to make a man's penis larger? Published in the BJU International Journal, this pilot phase-II prospective study was conducted by urological researchers from the University of Turin in Italy. The goal was to attain scientific evidence to support the potential clinical utility of penile extenders in the treatment of patients with inadequate penile dimensions.

Results of Phase-II Prospective Study

"After 6 months the mean gain in length was significant, meeting the goals of the effect size, at 2.3 and 1.7 cm for the flaccid and stretched penis, respectively. No significant changes in penile girth were detected. The EF domain scores improved significantly at the end of study…"

"CONCLUSIONS: Penile extenders should be regarded as a minimally invasive and effective treatment option to elongate the penile shaft in patients seeking treatment for a short penis."

What This Means For Men Everywhere

The outcome of this study has proven, without a doubt, that these devices will actually increase penis size. In addition, regular use will also improve the quality of erectile function (EF) as well.

The absence of significant improvement in girth dimensions is a little surprising since most users tend to report an increase in thickness of the shaft. This however might be attributed to the apparent lack of ancillary techniques – I see no reference in the report to any accompanying penis exercises. My Thoughts

To be perfectly honest, the release of this new study impacts me on many levels. For one, I am very excited for all the men out there unhappy with the size of their penis. This no longer needs to be an issue when the tools necessary to improve themselves are now readily available.

On a more admittedly selfish level, I am extremely pleased by the validation these findings give me personally. Over the years my detractors have launched one attack after another against me for what they could not bring themselves to accept as fact – that naturally increasing penis size is possible. Most recently I faced harsh criticism on my coverage of the previous penis extender pilot study over what some concluded to be "my own interpretation" of results. My defense, which still remains, is that I know how to read and I know what was stated in those findings.

With the release of this study, there is no room for mistake in interpretation, there are no general vagaries regarding outcomes. This study had one goal over all; to determine if the size of the penis could be increased through the use of a penile extender device. The results speak for themselves, with a resounding "Yes!!"

Ultimately everyone has there own opinion when it comes to the topic of penis size. For some it doesn't matter. That's fine, you probably don't need to use the resources of our website. Objective measures demonstrated reduced curvature in all men from 10–45 degrees; average reduction for the group was 33% (51–34 degrees). SPL increased 0.5–2.0 cm and erect girth increased 0.5–1.0 cm with correction of hinge effect in four out of four men."

Finally we have some irrefutable proof that natural penis enlargement can and does work! Of course I don't expect that the mainstream media will be reporting on this anytime soon. Research suggests that as many as 80% of men with diabetes develop erectile dysfunction, compared to about 22-25% of men without diabetes. Unfortunately more precise percentages are difficult to estimate because many men fail to address the issue with their doctors.

While the simple answer to both of these questions is "no", let's take a minute to talk about why penis pumps really aren't a good choice for penis enlargement.

First off, penis pumps are designed to rapidly expand the penis beyond it's normal size. The most frightening thing about penis pumps is the chance of permanent injury. Using these types of vacuum pumps can easily restrict blood flow to the penis which can lead to cell trauma and nerve damage. When nerves die you lose sensation and feeling – permanently.
