Environmental Pollution and Male Sexual Health
Posted by PRS on September 19th, 2008
Recent studies have shown that male testosterone levels are falling at an unprecedented rate and that male reproductive health may be in serious trouble. One of the reasons for this decline points to environmental pollution issues, particularly chemicals known as xenoestrogens, which can lead to serious male reproductive problems. These compounds have a direct effect on testosterone, the hormone which stimulates sperm production, libido and muscular development and is largely responsible for all the physical characteristics that make a man, a man.

Andropause and Aging, the Male Menopause
Posted by PRS on May 5th, 2008
The process of menopause is commonly understood as describing the time in a woman's life when the menstrual cycle ends. The male equivalent however, called andropause, is not nearly as widely discussed. While the physiological mechanics of andropause differ significantly from those that affect women, the importance of understanding and dealing with this condition that impacts over 5 million men in the U.S. alone, cannot be overstated.

Steroids Effects On The Penis
Posted by PRS on January 11th, 2007
In my younger days I was somewhat of a bodybuilding fanatic. It pretty much all started when I was 13 and saw the Conan Movie with Arnold Schwarzenegger. I remember thinking to myself that I just HAD to look like him someday! Well after years of training hard and going to the gym everyday, I started to become disappointed that I didn't develop a huge muscular physique. There were other guys in the gym that were giants so how come I wasn't? When I would ask these guys how they became so big, many times they would tell me that to truly get big I would have to use an "enhancer" – i.e. steroids. Well I never could bring myself to stick a needle in my body, so needless to say I never achieved the muscle-bound shape that I had hoped for. One thing I did notice was that in the shower some of these huge guys also had tiny little penises. I always wondered… does using steroids shrink a man's penis?

Early Onset Andropause
Posted by PRS on September 12th, 2006
In recent years the early onset of Andropause among men has become an alarming trend. Andropause is basically the male equivalent of female menopause and is associated with a sharp decline in testosterone levels. While this condition is a natural process that usually effects men between the ages of 40 and 55, environmental factors associated with the rise of industrialized society have begun to influence its development. A wide range of pollutants and chemicals have been found to act as synthetic estrogens which can induce specific changes in men at both the physical and psychological levels.

Testosterone Level Deficiencies
Posted by PRS on June 2nd, 2005
Testosterone is classified within the androgen family of hormones and is responsible for the development of masculine characteristics in all vertebrates. Primarily secreted in the testes and secondarily by the adrenal glands, testosterone controls the development of the male sex organs and is responsible for the emergence of secondary sex characteristics including body and facial hair, deepening of the voice, broadening of shoulders and chest, thickening of bones and increase of muscle mass. Because this hormone is closely linked to the well-being of males, any dip in testosterone levels can bring about massive changes to an individual.
