Erectile Dysfunction Rates for U.S. Cities
Posted by PRS on April 3rd, 2009
Determining the prevalence of erectile dysfunction within the United States is no easy task. To my knowledge there have been no official studies performed to calculate the exact size of the male population suffering with this condition. Given the sensitivity of the subject, I'm not entirely certain that such a census could even be accurately conducted. There is however an unofficial study that was recently published in Men's Health magazine that attempts to rank the frequency of erectile dysfunction within 100 U.S. cities based on several specific factors.

Horny Goat Weed is Ba-a-ack
Posted by PRS on October 3rd, 2008
The increasingly popular (albeit, somewhat controversial) natural aphrodisiac commonly known as 'horny goat weed' has returned to the headlines this month. Researchers from the University of Milan are now saying that there is some merit behind claims that the plant can be helpful as a treatment for male impotence. Before you rush out to stock up on a supply you should be aware that this is not the same stuff you'd find on the counter of your local convenience store. The production of a viable derivative is still under development and several years away from completion.

Before you run out and stock up on a supply from your local grocer, let's take a closer look at what the findings really mean.

The Continuing Crusade Against Natural Supplements
Posted by PRS on April 19th, 2008
I recently came across an article that I found to be extremely disturbing. Making the front page of several news organizations, this article alleges that vitamins may in fact be responsible for increasing the risk of early death. While I wasn't terribly surprised by Big Pharma's latest anti-supplement propaganda, the report's obvious dishonesty leaves me concerned for the future of natural health products in general.

Penis Enhancement In The Mainstream
Posted by PRS on May 8th, 2007
Contrary to popular belief, the act of naturally enlarging the penis is not a new practice. In fact, archaeological evidence shows that penis enhancement dates back thousands of years in various cultures from around the world.
Recently the practice of natural penis enlargement has become much more widespread and is slowly entering the mainstream of popular culture. This development is primarily due to two events that have taken place in recent times.

Drugs vs. Herbs – The Battle Rages On
Posted by PRS on February 22nd, 2007
Lately it seems that herbal alternatives to Viagra, Cialis and other prescription drugs used to treat erectile dysfunction have been cropping up all over the place. Personally I think that natural herbal solutions to male problems are ultimately the way to go. But I don't think the big pharmaceutical companies are too excited.
I recently found an article over on MSN Health & Fitness entitled "Natural Viagra: Is it safe?" After reading that, I have to admit that I was a little surprised by the obvious bias expressed in the article.

Posted by PRS on February 12th, 2007
A gimmick timed for Valentine's Day, or a dangerous medical precedent? Britain's biggest pharmacy chain, Boots, will start selling Viagra over the counter at some stores on Feb. 14 – a day also designated in Britain as National Impotence Day.
As reported by the Associated Press, Viagra will be made available to men ages 30 to 65 who want the impotence-fighting drug. The pharmacy says that it will run the program for 6 months in three of their locations and then may decide to expand it to other stores.

Well it doesn't look like men will be rushing out to pick up some Viagra at their favorite health stores anytime soon. The Associated Press recently reported that federal regulators are unlikely to approve over the counter sale of Pfizer Inc's erectile dysfunction medication due to safety risks.
