Can clear fluid during sex cause pregnancy?

When i'm having sex with my bf there's this white

transparent color substance that gets out from him

before we do the act, i'm asking if this substance is

potent? Can it get me pregnant?

The substance that you are referring to is most likely

pre-ejaculate fluid - it's also commonly called

'precum'. This is a clear and colorless fluid that

comes from a man's penis when he is sexually aroused.

The main function of this fluid is to prepare the

urethra for the passage of sperm - it acts to

neutralize any acidity due to residual urine traces. It

also helps to lubricate the foreskin to facilitate

entry into the vagina.

To answer your question as to whether this can make you

pregnant, there is unfortunately no definite answer.

Some studies suggest that any sperm within the pre-

ejaculate fluid is more or less ineffectual at causing

pregnancy. But again, there have been no large-scale

studies done to verify this.

If you are concerned about getting pregnant then I

would suggest you practice some method of safe sex such

as using condoms or some other manner of birth control.

While there is no clear link between this fluid and

pregnancy, this does not rule out the possibility of

there being some sperm contained within it. It's always

best to play it safe.
